Let’s talk the limiting beliefs that is holding you back to live life to your full potential.
So, what are these limiting beliefs and how they blocking your growth? Let me explain this to you with the famous story we all know. A story about an Elephant and his trainer. When the elephant was an infant, the trainer would always chain its leg with a wooden pole. As an infant the elephant did not have much strength to loosen itself from the wooden pole and escape. As the elephant grows bigger and stronger, the trainer would chain the elephant to the wooden pole and it won’t escape. What do you think must have happened here?
It’s the limiting belief. The elephant has got so used to the captivity, that it wouldn’t make an effort to free itself after it has grown bigger and stronger. It has become the prisoner of its own limiting belief.
We are all that elephant. Trapped in the incidents and episodes in the past, that have created false impression about ourselves and others. And accepted to live in this prison for life.
I’m going to fail.
I’m not worthy of being loved.
I don’t have it me.
I can’t because I am not ______.
I will be judged.
Life is hard.
Someone else can probably do better than me.
I’m not good at anything.
These are few of the negative beliefs we must have heard or experienced at different age of our lives. May be in the form of feedback from your teacher, or what your friends said to you, or your boss or peers treated you, or even your parents told you. You accepted this to be true and never tried to challenge it. This became your belief system. System that limited your potentiality, your capability and your capacity to do more and beyond. Generally the way a person behaves is the result of noticeable symptoms of unmet needs.
Now remember the time when you were appreciated for your achievements. Did you feel confident about yourself? Were you motivated to perform better each time? Did you get encouraged?
The only limits you have are the limits you believe. If you have positive belief, you will have positive outcomes. If you have negative belief, you will always be stuck in this vicious cycle. You are not your past actions, incidents or events, that’s is history. Neither are you how people told you, you are or the way they treated you. That is all behind you. You are what you are now, in this moment. You are what you create in this moment, for your present and future self. So, embrace yourself, let go of your past limiting beliefs and become the unlimited you, for your today and your tomorrow. Live up to your dreams, your desires.
Take care of yourself.
